Maureen McElaney is a Developer Advocate at IBM Cloud Data Services. Prior to that, she worked as a QA Engineer at Dealer.com and is passionate about building tools that increase developer productivity and joy. In 2013 she founded our chapter of Girl Develop It and has co-organized such conferences as Burlington Ruby, UX Burlington, and Offline Camp. She's passionate about building a welcoming environment where other women will discover the joy of code, and is still an active learner herself. Maureen also loves kitties, cooking, and local Vermont beer and is on the constant search to find Champy (Burlington's very own lake monster!)
Annalouise Venturella works in customer service by day. Annalouise started as a student with Girl Develop It and as an active learner of web technologies she enjoys finding more ways to exercise these skills in her daily life. As class coordinator, she hopes to encourage more women to join GDI and learn how to code. During her free time, Annalouise is an avid film viewer and loves the buzz of Oscar season.
Masha leads the technical support and training department at MBF Bioscience, a technology company in Williston, VT that develops software and hardware for bioscience research. Masha works closely with software developers on user interface design and improvements to software functionality. While her course work in college focused on physical sciences such as chemistry and biology, Masha always had a passion for computer science. Masha has a strong passion for helping girls and women get more involved in technology projects and studies. Together with her husband, Masha owns and operates two Play Dog Play canine care facilities in the area. Aside from her work, Masha enjoys her life in Burlington’s South End with her husband, two kids, and two dogs.
Rachel Allard grew up in Huntington, at the foot of Camel's Hump, and has loved the mountains ever since (even to the point of attempting a Long Trail end to end hike on a badly sprained ankle!). She currently resides in Williston, and is an avid reader, traveler, skier, and eater (she loves exploring the VT restaurant scene). Professionally, Rachel knew digital advertising was where she wanted to be early on; however, she chanced upon SaaS, operations, marketing automation and analytics. The fast pace, infinite opportunities, daily problem solving challenges, and amazing people in this industry are what fuel her passion for it, and she looks forward to many years of learning, adapting and growing with it, and with all of you!
Anahi Costa manages our chapter's social media presence and marketing efforts. She came to tech by way of marketing and data science, interests that fit well with her hobby: electronic/digital arts. She works for MyWebGrocer a place where she enjoys growing her tech skills. Originally from Ecuador, she loves Vermont, where she moved in 2007. Things that make her life rich are Winter and Summer sports, using/learning code and volunteering.
Katie Giampa manages our chapter's presence at conferences. By day, she is a project manager at Dealer.com who loves the welcoming technology community in Vermont. She is passionate about increasing the diversity of the Vermont technology community since the best code always comes from the most diverse coders working together. She is heavily involved in community out reach for the Burlington GDI chapter, and is our operations master who loves to meet, greet, and talk with all our members. She is also a huge fan of dogs and craft Vermont beer.
Chris Saracco is our chapter photographer and an active volunteer. She has been in graphic design for many years and has spent the last two years transitioning into web development. Part of the learning process included Girl Develop It, both from attending courses and by being a teacher’s assistant. Chris has enjoyed becoming part of Burlington’s nascent technology scene. One of her favorite hobbies is photography. She is very excited to be able to make a contribution to GDI while doing something she is passionate about.
Cady Goudreau manages the College/University outreach for our chapter. Cady is a native Vermonter. She works at Competitive Computing as a technology consultant, focusing on Program and Project Management. She manages traditional SDLC technology projects for internal and external-facing web applications, and has experience with packaged and custom software implementation. Cady is excited to be a part of the Girl Develop It Leadership Team because of the opportunities, support, and empowerment it provides for women. Her free time consists of hoppy beers, refinishing old furniture, concerts, cooking delicious meals, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her fiancé and their two Shih Tzu’s.
Sammie Beebe is the social/annual event coordinator for our chapter. She is a transplant to Vermont from Illinois and Oregon but has fallen in love with the state! She graduated from Champlain College and since has been working in Project Management at a growing software company. She has just started her path to learning how to code but is loving it so far! Sammie loves what Girl Develop It does because she wants more women to feel empowered to break into tech if that is where their passion lies. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors of Vermont and New Hampshire with her fiance, scrapbooking and brewing beer!
